Sherlock takes to the stage

Year 7 took on the complex challenge of bringing not one, but three of Arthur Conan-Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories to the stage and did a fantastic job to learn the dialogue and act so convincingly on stage.

The three evening performances were incredibly well supported and we just managed to finish on the Saturday before the snow set in! Thanks to the generosity of those attending, we managed to raise £500 for the school’s chosen charities.

By putting on three shorter plays, we were able to allow for a far greater number of main parts (three Holmeses, three Dr Watsons, etc.) – an important consideration given the acting talents of this year group.

All the boys acquitted themselves fantastically well and it was a pleasure to direct such a focused and receptive group. I would like to thank them for their hard work, and also thank the vast number of staff who also committed so much time to making the production such a success.
