Boys Achieve the FAA Level 2/5 Award in Student First Aid
As part of the Activities programme this term, our Matron Mrs Gipson has been running First Aid training for some of the boys in Years 6 to 8 and this week they qualified as Student First Aiders.
This 3-hour First Aid Award qualification has been designed for students aged 11+ and provides a fantastic opportunity for students to enhance their CV and develop new life skills.
The practical and theoretical assessments covered were:
- What Is First Aid?
- Resuscitation
- Burns and scalds
- Safe use of an AED (defibrillator)
- Wounds and Bleeding
- Recovery Position
- Head Injuries
- Choking
This level 2/5 first aid qualification for students is the first qualification of its kind in the UK and is valid for 3-years. Congratulations to all of the boys and thank you to Mrs Gipson.
