An evening of festive joy
On Tuesday night the boys put on a superb performance for their parents of musical talent and reciting Christmas poems. They had worked extremely hard both in music and drama lessons as well as individual lessons to prepare for our Christmas Concert. We felt very fortunate to have been able to perform to parents in person. All the forms sang a Christmas song together and recited a poem off by heart. With Miss Gould’s guidance and encouragement the boys sang beautifully and enthusiastically and even managed to get some actions in too! It really was a great opportunity to show their parents what they had been working on in music this term.
There were too many excellent individual performances to single anyone out. The solos and duet brought goosebumps to everyone and I know it left people in absolute awe of the talented boys we have at Moulsford. The boys who took to the stage demonstrated huge amounts of courage to play in front of such a large audience and should be congratulated on putting themselves forward. It is an incredible achievement and hopefully it will fill them with confidence ready for the solo concert next term, should they like to do it again. It was quite hard to believe that some of the boys who performed solos or duets had only taken up their instrument for a short while or didn’t even have singing lessons. Incredible raw talent!
It was lovely to see such a wide range of instruments played across Year 4 too. If Tuesday’s concert is anything to go by then I cannot wait to watch the boys grow in talent and confidence and see what they produce by the time they are in Year 8!
We finished our evening with a bit of ‘Earth, Wind and Fire’ where the boys treated their parents to a very cheerful number to round off the evening. They had so much fun dancing and singing their hearts out to this and it brought a smile to everyone’s faces watching them.
Thank you Year 4! Thank you parents for your support and encouragement, we are so glad you enjoyed it.
