Sports, the river and theatrical pursuits!

The Moulsford staff ran a number of courses over the Easter holidays with the boys having the opportunity to learn new skills, play sports and express themselves artistically! The weather was gorgeous and the boys were able to enjoy the sunshine and spend time with their friends.

Cricket – Mr Noble’s Easter Cricket Course was a great success and the boys enjoyed being able to use the full range of outdoor cricketing facilities. The course saw a combination of skills based training, match situations and fun games, getting the boys back into cricket with an exciting Summer ahead and it was lovely to see so many boys attend, from Year 3 up to Year 8.

Hockey - It was fantastic to see so many boys from Year 4 to 8 able to enjoy some hockey for the first time this year and we were blessed with the weather and with some really positive progress. Mr Springer was especially encouraged with how the boys endeavoured to play a team orientated game, involving everyone and working together to achieve great things. Thank you to all those that were involved, the future of Moulsford hockey looks bright!

Multi Sports Course – This course for Years 3 to 5 was run by Mr Weeks, Miss Roberts and Mr Holden. Over three afternoons the boys enjoyed a variety of fun activities and games which were designed to help them unwind and have a laugh with each other after a long and challenging term. The number of smiles and laughs over the three days suggested that it had been enjoyed by all.

Paddlesports – During the Easter paddlesports camp the boys honed their paddling skills in kayaks, canoes and on Stand Up Paddleboards. The water was somewhat chilly, but this didn't deter the boys from pushing their skills to the limits and getting wet in the process. It was fab to see the Moulsford boys enjoying being out on the river again with Mr Symonds and Mr Edwards.

Drama – With a wide variety of games, activities and challenges, the boys attending the Drama course run by Mr Edwards and Mr Martin certainly had a busy couple of days! All our aspiring actors showed plenty of skill and enthusiasm with highlights including groups choreographing a piratical fight sequence, filming and editing short movies and of course some intense sessions of ‘Whizz, boing, bounce’ and ‘Splat!’. The course was great fun to put on and we even got lucky with the weather – we’re already looking forward to our next Drama camp in October!
