A mysterious and fun-packed week
The children in Pre-Prep have enjoyed the most wonderful World Book Week – it has been non-stop literary fun! At the start of the week the children took part in a carousel of activities, in their houses, based on the book Beegu by Alexis Deacon. There was junk modelling, biscuit baking and a treasure hunt, where the children had to find the Beegus that had hidden around the playground. The children enjoyed working in their Houses and it gave them the opportunity to play and work with lots of different boys and girls.
On Wednesday Years 1 and 2 had a visit from Ben Garrod, author of ‘Jack Jack - A Dog in Africa’. Ben is also Professor of Evolutionary Biology at the University of East Anglia and knows a lot about chimps and dinosaurs! The children would have kept him all day to answer all of their animal mystery questions, had they been given the chance!
On World Book Day it was marvellous to see all of the costumes on display, from both staff and pupils. The playground was full of colour and the children really enjoyed getting involved in the activities.
Making the week extra special were the 30 Pre-Prep parents who came in to school to read to the children throughout the week, under the supervision of the Moulsford staff. It was so wonderful to share the literary fun with the whole Moulsford community.
