High Performance Lunchtimes celebrates its half century
England's Rugby World Cup winning captain from 2003 was our guest this week to celebrate the 50th episode of High Performance Lunchtimes. A record number of attendees (well over 100) listened to Martin Johnson talk for 40 minutes about his life. There were many moments to treasure within the talk but the majority centred around what were some very humble messages from one of England's finest rugby players. The boys learnt to appreciate that: setbacks aren't fatal, how complaining doesn't get you anywhere, the importance of a team and how there is a need to accept that failure is a part of life. Martin also talked about how the boys should always be prepared to learn and never be satisfied as there is never a perfect human. His non-negotiables all came back to honesty and we all smiled at his advice to his teenage self to buy Apple shares!
High Performance Lunchtimes is a Moulsford initiative which has been going since 2021 and aims to help the Moulsford community learn about life through the experience of others. The talks are open to boys from Years 5 to 8 and take place on a Tuesday lunchtime from 1-1.30pm. The ones that are on zoom are always made available for members of the Moulsford community to join in and listen to. Our speakers for next term are listed below with hyperlinks included to enable you to speak with your sons about them.
