The Power of Positive thinking

In these uncertain times, some of the most endearing images have come from the work of Charlie Mackesy who has produced a wonderful book entitled ‘The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse’. Mackesy’s images, combined with minimal text, have helped many to understand the importance of being positive in difficult situations. After all, life is about moving forward and making the best of what we have. This approach has certainly seemed to inspire the British public and the Moulsford Community during this enforced period of lockdown.

One of the things I have learnt through this period is the importance of taking the time to appreciate what is around you as opposed to rushing from A to B. There are days where I wished I could have done simple things like going to the pub or visiting friends but instead of dwelling on why I couldn’t, I decided to go and explore areas that I had never seen around my local area. Footpathmap.co.uk became like a computer game as I ticked off the paths I had explored! Everytime I went out on a walk or a run it felt like an adventure as I took the time to explore. I enjoyed making mistakes as I went down the wrong paths and subsequently found some fantastic sights and views. Adventure and discovery can turn even the hardest times into wonderful memories.

Positivity is infectious as if you roll with it you can inspire others to do many things. After writing numerous quizzes over the holiday, I was so taken by the number of thank-you’s and compliments I received that I started to write some more. This got me thinking that in our pre-Coronavirus lives we moved so quickly and perhaps didn’t say positive things to enough people. It is amazing what being positive with yourself and others can do to the world around us………...more of this would certainly be on my list for the post-Coronavirus world!
