Whole school performance

The whole of the Moulsford community has been involved in a Christmas performance this week from our Bobcats in Pre-School through to our Year 8s. In the Pre-Prep we had two gorgeous productions, Whoops a Daisy Angel for the children in Early Years and Census Sums in Years 1 and 2. The children all performed with confidence and enthusiasm and we are sure that there was not a dry eye in the house from the parents (and teachers!)

In Year 3 the glitz and glamour of Strictly was brought to Bethlehem in ‘Lights Camel Action’. The whole production was incredibly professional with some very polished dance moves and fantastic singing. It was definitely a 10 from us!

The Year 4 concert featured a variety of musical and dramatic performances and even included Father Christmas on piano! The solos and duet brought goosebumps to everyone and the boys who took to the stage demonstrated huge amounts of courage to play in front of such a large audience and should be congratulated on putting themselves forward. It is an incredible achievement and hopefully it will fill them with confidence ready for the solo concert next term. It was quite hard to believe that some of the boys who performed solos or duets had only taken up their instrument for a short while or didn’t even have singing lessons. All of the boys worked so hard and performed to a packed theatre who left feeling suitably festive.

On Thursday the boys in Years 5 to 8 attended the Carol Service in the Falklands Memorial Chapel at Pangbourne College. There were performances from Year 5 and Year 6, who sung a French carol. The Senior Choir were in fine voice with solos from Head Chorister Steven T as well as Edward P and Zeb B, and the orchestra played beautifully. With readers from across the whole school, and departing staff, it was a community effort.

Finally, on Friday morning, after a break of three years, we took 30 members of the Senior Choir to sing for the residents at Rush Court care home. It was a lovely way to round off a musical week.

Thanks so much to all of the staff who prepared the children so thoroughly and to all of the parents who supported both at home, and at the events.

Merry Christmas!
