Emerson P wins for Moulsford in Italy and Switzerland
Emerson P has recently returned from two major schools ski competitions in Europe. He competed for Moulsford in four races over the week and was successful in winning gold medals in all his races.
The British Interschools’ Championships in Pila Italy attracts over 50 ski teams from the UK’s top sporting schools including Wellington, Reeds, Cothill, Cheltenham College, Winchester House and Millfield. Emerson took part in two races, the Giant Slalom and Slalom. He was competing in the Under 12 category where the winner is decided by the fastest of two runs. He skied with confidence and aggression to dominate the field in both events and won both races by 2.1 and 3.7 seconds respectively. He was also awarded the overall school cup for Moulsford as his two wins meant he topped the points table in the Under 12 and Under 10 categories.
Emerson then travelled to Villars in Switzerland to take on an international field of 176 skiers from France, Switzerland, USA and GB in the Aiglon College Cup. Aiglon College is an international school with a strong ski focus and this event attracts some of the top French and Swiss schools. Once again he skied fantastically well to take top podium position and gold medals in both the Giant Slalom and Combi races. Particularly pleasing was the Combi race where after the first run he was in second position 1.7 seconds behind the leader. He put in a strong charge on the second run to improve his first run time to take the gold medal.
