The Moulsford Mudder 2016!
The sky was blue, not a cloud in sight, we could not have asked for better conditions on Sunday 2nd October for the second Moulsford Mudder, supporting our school charities “Style Acre” and “Mary’s Meals”. Building on the success of last year, with a couple of changes, the grounds staff at Moulsford had been busy building the course and thanks to the sporadic rain showers in the days leading up to it, the ground was soggy and suitably muddy. From 9 through to 11 o’clock on Sunday morning, there was a steady stream of entrants lining up for registration to complete the Mudder, with parents as well as siblings and friends taking part. The course opened at 10 o’clock with some boys diving, literally, straight into “Gooey Shoes”. The aim of all 103 entrants was two-fold: get very muddy from head to toe and complete the course as many times as possible! Well, they were very successful on both fronts with a lot of boys completing the course over 20 times and as the images clearly testify, some boys were unrecognisable; such was their muddiness by the time they had finished. We have some official pictures taken by staff on the day, but if you would like to share some of the images that you took, it would be great if you could send them to [email protected].
We have got off to a brilliant start in this year’s fundraising for our school charities “Style Acre” and “Mary’s Meals” and from the Mudder alone we have already raised over £800. Your support, as ever, is invaluable and I am incredibly grateful. Without the support of the whole Moulsford Community, this event would not have been the success that it was, so thank you! Plans are already afoot to make some improvements on the Moulsford Mudder course and I look forward to welcoming you back next year for another round.
