Charlie B plays in the Falkland Island Memorial Chapel
Last Saturday Charlie B in Year 8 took part in the Pangbourne Piano Festival 2020. He was first to go in the group aged 15 and Under (Grades 5-6), and played Fur Elise by Beethoven on a Steinway & Sons grand piano, in the Falkland Island Memorial Chapel. The Adjudicator for this category was Mr Luis Pares (BMus, MMus), who has an international career as a soloist and chamber musician and has won many national and international competitions. After each child played, Mr Pares congratulated them and discussed with them how to improve their piece, giving them tips so that their pieces would be perfect. It was a wonderful afternoon listening to very talented pianists and incredibly valuable to have a masterclass with the very talented and highly regarded Mr Luis Pares.
