IAPS Regional Tournament
For the first time Moulsford’s Under 11 hockey team headed to the IAPS regional tournament at Rugby school this week.
Some excellent hockey was played, with a fast-paced passing style winning many admirers. Dominant displays in the morning meant that the boys topped the group and progressed into the Cup competition. In the high-pressure knockout stages, they kept their heads and progressed to the final, winning some tight matches without conceding.
The final, against Crescent School, was a fitting finish to an excellent day. Both teams had chances but the keepers were on the top of their game and it looked like the game was going to a golden goal. However, with the last hit of the game Crescent broke the deadlock and were triumphant.
As runners up Moulsford have won a place at the National IAPS hockey finals in March. An achievement to be proud of!
