Top three finishes in three events

Emerson P (Year 7) had a very successful week competing in the British Alpine Ski Championships in Tignes, France over the Easter holidays.  Within his year of birth (2006) he managed to finish in the top two for all three disciplines of Super G, GS and Slalom and finished number one in the discipline of GS, coming second in the other two.

Emerson was the youngest skier in the Under 14 category with a strong field of 65 competitors including a number of GB international athletes. His first race was the speed discipline of Super G.  This is a new event for him this year and he skied with confidence to finish 2nd placed 2006 and overall 12th position.  Next up was the Slalom where he showed great improvement from early season form to finish 2nd placed 2006 and 8th overall in the Under 14 category.

In his last event, his favourite, the Giant Slalom, he put in two very strong runs to finish as top 2006 boy and 8th position overall including finishing ahead of a number of GB athletes.  Emerson was the only 2006 boy to feature in the top three in all disciplines – a great display of consistency and versatility.
