Cabot victory for the first time in 13 years!
On Monday the whole school was involved in our annual Inter-House Music Competition, the thirteenth of its kind. The morning was spent in House Song and Ensemble rehearsals, and the boys assembled in the Theatre after lunch, all dressed up in their themed costumes, for the competition.
The solo round was won by Cabot with Louis Holland's emotional rendition of Bring Him Home, from Les Misérables, and the ensemble round saw a victory for Drake, with the Meghan Trainor song: Like I'm Going to Lose You. The House Song round was taken by Cabot, with a beautiful version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. There was also a spot prize won by Johnny Miller, who particularly impressed the Judge with his all-round musicianship. The overall winners were Cabot, making competition history, as they have never won it before!
The judge, Ellie Calver, who has recently taken up the post of Director of Music at Pangbourne College, made a hugely positive impression on the school, offering both detailed and entertaining feedback to the boys after each round. We would like to thank her for taking the time to come and help us with, what turned out to be, a very successful and memorable Inter-House Music Competition.
