Raising money for Alzheimer’s Society

Old Mole and current parent, Charlie Starmer-Smith has recently released his first single ‘Spotlight’ which is steadily climbing the iTune charts. The single, which Charlie wrote during lockdown, is about his father Nigel’s battle with dementia. Nigel will be known to many as a rugby commentator and such is the respect for him, that the whole sporting community has thrown its support behind the song with messages of support coming on twitter from Gary Lineker, Matt Dawson, Nick Mullins, Andrew Cotter and many more.

Charlie’s son Jack is currently in Year 4 and he also attended Moulsford along with his brother. His late mum also briefly worked at the school so their connection to the school is a long one!

Spotlight is one of a number of songs Charlie wrote at home during lockdown and is out now.  All the proceeds go to Alzheimer's Society, whose Sport United Against Dementia campaign is doing such vital research.

We wish Charlie the best of luck and send our love and best wishes to Nigel and his whole family.
