Oscar N supports his village
The last few weeks have been difficult for everyone in our communities, especially those who are elderly or vulnerable. However, Oscar N in Year 8 decided to do something to support the people in his local village who are in need. Each morning he has presented himself to the village shop at 9 o’clock on his bike and delivered up to 45 newspapers a day to people in the village who are 'staying at home'. Not only has he delivered papers but he has also run errands for them and picked up shopping. He has delivered over 550 papers already!
During the week when Oscar was balancing school work with his community work, he managed to keep up with lessons by catching up in his break times.
The manager of the village shop wrote to Mr Beardmore-Gray to say, “Oscar is a great credit to himself, his family and the school. His reliability, thoughtfulness and ability to think on his feet is very impressive for his age and he has handled all the issues associated with delivery admirably.”
This is fantastic Oscar, thank you for all of your efforts!
