Kit represents his country

Last week the IDO Show Dance World Championships were held in Riesa, near Dresden in Germany with Great Britain competing for the first time in the Show Dance category.  Kit S in Year 8 had the honour of being the first and only boy to compete for GB, which is an excellent achievement.  There were 1,855 dancers from 23 nations taking part over the 6 days’ worth of heats so the competition was fierce.

Kit performed in three categories, Junior Duet, Junior Small Group and a Junior Large Group Formation, and reached the Semi-Finals in both duet and small group.  There were over 42 entries in the quarter finals and 17 went through to the semis with only 6 making it through to the Finals so Kit and the team did extremely well.

In the end, Russia topped the Children Show Dance division in front of more than 3000 spectators with their dancers winning 14 out of 15 possible medals!

Huge congratulations to Kit S for his participation.  It was an amazing experience for everyone involved.
