Al fresco lunch enjoyed by all
As we near the end of this term's Year 1 Forest School sessions, it was time to celebrate the coming of Spring with our lunch al fresco. Using the knowledge we had gained about fire building, the boys collected wood and built a fire ready to light. Unfortunately, due to the slightly less than favourable conditions, we had to make our fire in the Tentipi. This turned out to be a slightly smokier affair than usual, but it did mean the beans on toast with sausages had a lovely flavour. After a dessert of flame-grilled Belgian waffles, the boys were all set up to enjoy the break in the weather to carry on practising other skills learnt such as shelter building, knot tying and in one case, travailing down a tree trunk!
