News from the Oceans, the West End and the Rugby Pitch

Old Mole Tom Stanley (1996-2001) has recently spent 11 months circling the world as part of the 20 strong crew of the Sanya Serenity Coast Team in the Clipper Round the World Race.  The 70-foot ocean racing yacht took the team across a gruelling 46,000 miles, but at the final stage in Liverpool in July, they crossed the line in first place.  The victory is particularly sweet for us because Tom started his sailing at Moulsford!

Another Old Mole has also had a busy and successful year.  Toby Marlow (2002-2005) has co-created 'Six', a 'theatre -meets-pop' event about the wives of Henry VIII.  The show recently received a 4* review from The Telegraph who called it 'gloriously and persuasively coherent, confident and inventive......and, unlike its hapless subjects, it looks set to have a long and happy life'.  The show is now in the West End after enjoying great success at the Edinburgh Festival.

On the subject of Old Moles, it was also wonderful to see a reunion between some of the 2018 Old Moles as they played their first rugby matches at their new schools – Stowe vs Marlborough.
