Senior Citizens Afternoon Tea

Year 7 hosted a lovely afternoon for visitors from our local residential homes

It was hoped that an afternoon tea (rather than a coffee morning) for local residential homes would encourage more to attend. Well, it worked!  We had our largest gathering ever of 23 visitors from The Old Vicarage (Moulsford), Rush Court (Shillingford) and Sotwell Hill House (Brightwell cum Sotwell). The weather forecast said rain and strong winds, but we were in luck and the sun shone and our school and grounds looked a picture.

Some of our Year 7s entertained our visitors with a concert, led by Mr Bissell and Miss Smith, which included voices and musical instruments, whilst others sat around the tables, talking and asking lots of questions, ably accompanied by others who served tea and cake.  After the concert, the boys took our visitors on a tour. Comments from the guests confirmed that a wonderful time was had by all and one even asked “Could we do this every week?”.

Thank you to everyone who helped the afternoon go with such aplomb.
