Over the Summer holidays, Moulsford boys will no doubt have undertaken many exciting challenges for fun, but we would like to highlight the superb effort of Ollie DP in Year 8, and his older brother (and Old Mole) Barney, who combined a personal challenge with fundraising for SKRUM.
The two brothers climbed Helvellyn and Scafell Pike in the Lake District in one day on 27th July, with the purpose of raising funds for this fantastic African charity which the school supports via the Rugby Tour to South Africa. Barney and Ollie have between them so far raised £2,551.25 for SKRUM (link to website), which aims to improve the future of African children by teaching them life skills and educating them about HIV/AIDS and gender violence.
Standing at 950m and 978m respectively, Helvellyn and Scafell Pike are two of the highest peaks in the Lake District, with Scafell Pike being the highest mountain in England. To complete both in one day is a major achievement. Well done Barney and Ollie!
