And breathe....What a half term of sport!
There were some excellent results on the sports field for Moulsford last term but one of the most pleasing sights has been the number of boys who have had the chance to compete. Giving every boy the opportunity to play a match has resulted in smiles, pride and a true sense of achievement!
Hockey: Over the course of this half term, hockey had fresh impetus under the watchful eye of Mr Springer. More boys represented the school than ever before. Every boy in Y5/6 played at least one hockey match with a fair percentage of Y7/8 also participating. There were some great results with the U10s looking very promising. Mr Springer was also impressed with the large amount of Y7 that represented the first team which augers well for next year.
Cross Country- Various different events around the local area were entered with the stand out performances coming from Rory W on a regular basis in Y3 and also Tom L in Y6. However, what was most impressive was the large number of boys that had an opportunity to represent the school.
MPL: Mr Symonds has been running the Moulsford Premier League this term which gives all the non-sevens boys the opportunity to play in some more competitive football fixtures. This has been a great success!
Year 2: Our Lions and Leopards were not to be outdone by the older boys and had a couple of opportunities on the sports field. Every boy in Year 2 played in the Tag Rugby Festival at Moulsford and also the Oratory Football Festival.
Year 3/4: Every boy in Y3/4 played football this term and performed admirably with some great performances across the board. There were some great performances from the higher teams in competitions, however, one of the highlights of the term was the U8G team playing their hearts out in front of a unusually large crowd for a G team fixture. There was fierce determination and lots of smiles on the football field this term!
Sevens: There has been some great success on the sevens field this year with every age group having a stand out performance. However, the highlight of this term has the volume of boys that have played sevens. There have been nearly 60 boys that have represented the school at rugby sevens this term which is a massive increase on previous years.
