Leon Paul Junior Series Sabre Event
During the Easter holidays, Joe K and Lachlan A took part in the Leon Paul Junior Series London Sabre event.
Joe was in the U9 Boys event and fenced really well through two rounds of poules. He won half of his fights and got a reasonable seeding into the elimination rounds. Joe made it all the way through to the semi-finals, using a good mix of tactics and tenacity. In the end he finished 3rd and bought a medal home.
Lachlan was using this event as a warm up for the Nationals. He was entered into the U13 Boys so was fencing boys up to two years older than him. His coach, James Roberts, gave him a few areas to work on, as the result wasn’t as important as using it as a training event. Lachlan fenced really well and learnt lots.
Well done to both boys, and best of luck to Lachlan in the Nationals!
