A well-earned victory!
The U13 7s squad opened their season at a wonderfully sunny Port Regis school in Dorset on Wednesday. This was in dramatic contrast to last year when the festival was cancelled due to two feet of snow!
The boys began the day well with a draw against Farleigh, although we came away feeling that we could possibly have taken the victory on another occasion. A tough game against Sherborne was our only loss of the day before we finished our group games with a well-earned victory against a strong Sandroyd side.
This put us in a new pool for the second half of the day and we managed to finish very much on the front foot with victories over Monkton Combe, Kings Hall and Clayesmore which meant we came away as winners of the Plate.
Most pleasing was the progression that the boys showed, along with a huge amount of effort on what was a ridiculously hot day for sevens. Many thanks go to Port Regis for organising a very well run and enjoyable festival.
