First hockey matches of the season
The 1st team played a great game against Summer Fields, winning 7-0. The opposition put up a decent effort, but the combined skill of Ollie H and Charlie H running down the wing, and Eddie W’s cannon-like shots on goal, were too much for them. Everyone played as hard as they could and a couple of the 2nd team members joined in to even up the teams. Jamie F and Stevie R put in a shift at the back with Nathaniel Z acting as a wall in goal. Ben M linked up the team with his fine passes and Messi-like skills. However, the man of the match has got to go to Eddie W for two amazing strikes on goal, one of them assisted by an interesting through-the-leg pass by Stevie R.
The 2nd team played in a 5-4 thriller which they sadly lost, however they put blood and sweat into the match, and Jake BG managed to bag a hat trick, and Jamie F scored the other. Vinnie K, Gill B, Jamie F and Ben M rotated in defence, however they were unable to deny Summer Fields their 5 goals. Harry C-L made some wonderful saves in goal. However the man of the match has got to go to the captain Oliver J, who played some wonderful passes through to Oliver C and Ben A.
