Twitter, Facebook and lots of great questions

On Friday morning, more than 30 parents gathered for a talk on ‘Social Media Basics’ run by Year 4 parent Laura Wood, who acts as the Communications rep for the Parents Association.  Through conversations with other parents, Laura realised that with Social Media now a part of our children’s everyday lives, many parents felt as though they were being left behind.

The session was a real beginners’ guide, focusing on Facebook and Twitter but dipping a toe into the other channels that our children are regularly using.  Laura talked us through how to set up and use an account, how to follow other accounts (including Moulsford’s own channels), getting the most from social media, a general glossary of terms, interacting with our children online and safeguarding.

No question was too silly and the parents hopefully left feeling less intimidated by digital media.
