Well done James – 2nd in the Nationals!
On 4th July I was invited to represent Moulsford in the IAPS Athletics Nationals at Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. This followed a successful day at Tilsey Park in Abingdon placing 1st in the 100M, running 12.0 seconds and breaking a regional record in the 300M running 40.5 seconds.
As we lined up for our heats in the 300M with all competitors having personal bests under 42 seconds, I knew it would be a tough race. I was behind on the bend heading into the homestretch, but showing great determination I managed to surge ahead past two boys and came placed 2nd running 40.51, with 1st place running a record 39.8.
Overall it was an amazing day and I would like to thank Mr Springer and Mr Symonds for helping me to find and nurture my love for Athletics and it was a pleasure to represent Moulsford.
