Moulsford's School Charities
Over the last couple of weeks the boys have seen some very moving presentations from the two charities that the Moulsford community is supporting this year.
Style Acre is our local charity and they enhance the lives of young people with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire by providing opportunities, encouragement and support for them to be independent within the community. Last week we were very glad to welcome Style Acre's fundraising coordinator Chris Burrows as well as Grace, who is supported by them and Susan, whose daughter is also supported by them and whose sons went to Moulsford. All the speakers held the boys interest and inspired them with some brilliant accounts of the impact that Style Acre has had in the local community over the last 21 years along with some wonderful fundraising ideas.
We also welcomed Peter Higgins who is a director of Mary's Meals, our international charity. The boys were invited to support the work that Mary's Meals does, providing food and education to over a million children around the world. Mary's Meals offers a long term solution to poverty and the boys were encouraged to get involved and play a part, big or small, simply by doing 'little acts of love' and thinking 'what can I do to change another child's life forever'.
The Moulsford community feels very privileged to be working with both of these very worthy charities, please keep an eye out for information about forthcoming fundraising events.
