Art to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War
This year’s Arts Week Exhibition’s theme was the centenary of the end of the First World War. Over 360 poppies were exhibited – these had been created by all the pupils during the summer holidays. In addition, 8 large paintings were produced by the boys during their Art Lessons, one from each year group. The pictures were based on the work of war artists and each boy was responsible for completing one section of their year group’s painting.
My thanks go to all the boys for their hard work and to all the staff for their support.
Special thanks go to Sue Lowe, Ellie Wilkinson, Camilla Moore and Clare Symonds for helping the boys during their Art lessons; also to Clare Symonds, Dawn Thackery, Judy Tollet and Jess Roberts for helping me mount the exhibition last weekend.
