Wow!  Spectacular …… Amazing!

On Wednesday 25th April, the boys in Year 5 were lucky enough to attend the matinee performance of 'Matilda the Musical' at the Cambridge Theatre, London.

Based on the much loved Roald Dahl book Matilda, the show is a festival of music and dance.

Year 5 left Moulsford at 12pm and arrived at the theatre by 1.45pm. Whilst waiting outside, the boys devoured some sausage rolls before being let into the theatre.

Here, we have James L, who visited the magical musical:

"It was spectacular! I thought the actress who played Matilda was amazing. Imagine how long it would have taken to learn everything; the lines, the actions, the songs - wow!"

“My favourite songs were 'When I grow up' and 'All I know I learnt from telly!' My favourite part was at the end when we saw the demise of the Trunchbull and the hilarious scene in the Library where the Wormwoods and Rudolpho escape to Spain as the finale.”

The trip really lived up to expectations and will be beneficial to our English, Drama and Music studies this term.

I would recommend Matilda to people of all ages; it truly is a fantastic experience.
