Harcourt Arboretum
Year 2 enjoyed a lovely day at Harcourt Arboretum on Tuesday looking at the trees and other plants. We did a number of activities including making birds’ nests, hunting for mini-beasts in the Monkey Puzzle tree, and learning how to identify different types of tree using only their buds as a guide. We learnt about the life cycle of a Giant Redwood tree and were surprised to hear that they depend on forest fires for survival! We were even treated to a rather fantastic display by one of the peacocks just before we left.
