Winners’ certificates presented by Style Acre judges
Yet again the boys rose to the challenge for the second Moulsford Boys’ Cake Off and the entries in the Cupcake, Tray Bake and Showstopper rounds were both inventive and showed an amazing amount of culinary skill. Hopefully you were able to follow the competition through the photos posted on the school website and in the Weekly Roundup throughout.
Whilst all the boys in Years 4 to 7 had the opportunity to judge in the Cupcake and Tray Bake rounds, we decided that this year these would be knock-out rounds and so through to the final Showstopper round went four boys each from Years 4 and 5 and three boys each from Years 6 and 7. The level of ambition shown by all fourteen finalists was pretty astounding with a couple of them also taking inspiration from our school charities this year, Style Acre and Mary’s Meals, as part of their decorations! As well as our own Moulsford catering staff, we were very lucky to have the guys from Style Acre come in each morning of Showstopper week to judge the entries on taste and presentation before they were auctioned off to the highest bidder in each year group. It was a grand finale to another great competition where all the boys showed brilliant support for our school charities. Huge congratulations go to all the contestants for all their efforts and especially to the winners.

On Monday 24th April we welcomed back the Style Acre Judges, Charlotte, Dan, Christina and Lisa to present the year group winners with their certificates. We were also very pleased to welcome Christine Wallace, a Great British Bake Off quarter finalist who spoke with great experience and inspiration to all the boys before presenting the overall winner with his certificate and a copy of her own recipe book.
A great big thank you goes to all those involved in The 2017 Moulsford Boys’ Cake Off. We are thrilled to have raised £1,100 for Style Acre and Mary’s Meals, it is your support whether it is in a big or small way, that makes these events successful and for that we are very grateful. Hopefully you have enjoyed the tasty delights along the way.
