Land, Sea and Air
What fabulous weather has blessed us for Activities Week this year. The theme has been 'Land, Air, Sea' and if you have been to school this week you will have noticed that Miss Severin literally flew in on Monday morning and parked her plane just outside the Headmaster's office. Not an everyday occurrence!
During the week the boys in Years 3 and 4 have all been participating in a number of activities involving the magical art form that is 'marbling', the creation and racing of rafts, treasure hunts, making and flying planes and expeditions down the river in a flotilla of craft.
On offer for the Pre-Prep was boat building, watercolour painting, fiction to inspire, army assault courses and collaborative collage. We remained very true to the theme and invited the Lego Master Builders to Moulsford on Thursday who held three workshops. The boys were inspired to build land, air or sea creations out of Lego; imaginations were ignited and the open ended learning was a delight.
The boys also had the chance to get out on trips. The Pre-Prep visited Cotswold Wildlife Park on Wednesday where they found land, sea and air animals and birds, picnicked and played. The Year 3 and Year 4 boys made their way to Legoland on a very sunny Thursday. Both trips were hugely successful and enjoyed immensely by the boys, who represented the school impeccably.
Friday was wrapped up with It's a Knockout style games, and a chance to get in the pool one more time in the fine weather. It was a day of team work and energy thoroughly enjoyed by all. Our week was brought to a close with a brief assembly featuring renditions of songs by the Proclaimers (!) before the boys went home for a well-earned rest over the weekend.
