Two whizpopping, ratwhizzlery days out!
Year Three had a squizzphizzing, scrumdiddlyumptious day at the Roald Dahl Museum! Split over two days, both groups started with a scenic walk around Great Missenden; stopping along the way to see sights and places that inspired Roald Dahl’s writing. We saw the petrol pumps of Danny Champion of the World, the window where Sophie first caught sight of the BFG and the library where Matilda would sneak off to every afternoon. We even made it to the church at the top of the hill and were able to see where Roald Dahl was buried.
In the museum, we started with a workshop that got us creating our very own Gruncher! We focused on how important it is that an author and illustrator work together to create such imaginative characters and creatures. After a trip around the museum, where we learnt about Roald Dahl’s life, we were back in the workshop creating our very own characters. Year Three even made their very own book of characters!
We left feeling inspired and ready to write our own creative stories - with plenty of character description!
