A ‘squizzphizzing’ trip
Year 3 had a ‘squizzphizzing’ school trip to the Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden this week. Here, there was an opportunity to explore the life and works of the famous children’s author, delving into the story of the curious and eccentric writer.
Given the small size of the museum, the boys took part in a Roald Dahl trail around Great Missenden as well as exploring the museum through a series of guided workshops.
In the museum, the boys saw Roald Dahl’s original writing shed where he wrote many of his famous works, at the bottom of his garden. We found out about many weird and wonderful habits the writer had, as well as looking at the strange items he liked to collect and keep on his desk (spinal shavings anyone?! )
The boys were given their own notebook to record their own ideas for a story. We all came away feeling inspired that anyone can be a writer, you only need to try!
