Maths Challenge for Years 5 and 6

On Tuesday, eight Moulsford boys went to Cheltenham College for an exciting Maths Challenge Day. Our Year 5 team and Year 6 team were pitted against girls and boys from schools covering Bristol to London.

The boys had to use their speed, maths skills, understanding of the world and teamwork to work through the different problems. There were four rounds; a group round where each team worked together to answer challenging multi-step problems, a make a number round in the form of 'Countdown', a shuttle round and a relay round.

Both teams worked well and showed excellent teamwork and persistence with problems. After a superb lunch (with hot chocolates a firm favourite), all teams received a certificate of participation. There was a great cheer when it was announced that our Year 6 team came second overall, receiving medals.

Well done to Freddie RC, Xander MC, Benny HS and Ben P from Year 5 and Sebby Y, Digby MW, Sam A and Freddie F from Year 6.
