A lively literary week

Pre-Prep have enjoyed the most wonderful World Book Week – it has been non-stop fun! Monday started with an assembly to introduce World Book Day to explain to the boys that we love books so much that we are going to give the whole week to focusing on it. This was followed by a ‘guess the book quiz’ held in classes. Tuesday morning saw us take part in a carousel of book related activities. The boys had the opportunity to choose two activities to take part in so completed crafty and dramatic tasks with a mixture of different year groups. You may have seen some creations come home already from Gerald the Giraffe to The Very Hungry Caterpillar and we also made some super paper plate characters from the Julia Donaldson books; the ladybird from What The Ladybird Heard, the witch from Room On The Broom and the Gruffalo!

On Tuesday afternoon, the excited Bobcats took their teddies to the Library for a sleepover. Teeth were brushed, faces were washed and sleepy stories read. The Bobcats tucked their bears up and whispered goodnight as they tiptoed out of the dark library. Much excitement the next morning as the Bobcats returned to wake their sleeping bears and find out about the hijinks they had got up to the night before!

World Book Day saw us visited by the very talented author and illustrator Debi Beaumont. We were exploring the alphabet as well as producing some mixed media chameleons. All of this while dressed up in some of the most inspired costumes I have ever seen. Hopefully the boys have enjoyed their week, we have certainly loved it!
