Leo and Harvey win big
Year 7’s Leo R competed in the final 2 rounds of the British Kart Championships at the PFI International Circuit in Lincolnshire during half term. Leo has historically performed well at this track and he dominated testing and qualifying on the first day. He went on to finish in first and second positions in the two points-scoring heats, which earned him pole position for the last race. He eventually finished in 2nd position in the final, but was the highest points scorer for the day.
There was a change in conditions on the second day with Leo only qualifying on the 2nd row. Leo improved, winning the first heat and finishing in 3rd position in the second heat. The combined results gave Leo a front row start for the last race of the championship season. The final was a chaotic affair with Leo crossing the line first, with the next 4 karts following less than 2 seconds behind.
After a hard fought championship, Leo ended in 2nd place in the overall classification, despite being the youngest competitor in his class. He will now go on to compete in the International Final in Portimao at the end of this month.
Also during half term, Harvey C in Year 7 had some more golfing success over half term. He won the final Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire (“BBO“) Under 12 tournament of the season at Frilford Heath, and with it the Under 12 Order of Merit for what they call the “Futures Tour” which took place over four tournaments around the three counties this year.
Congratulations to both boys on your continuing success!
