Pre-Prep Parents Event

An afternoon of warm Spring sunshine

Last Friday, we were delighted to welcome a large number of parents to the woods for our Forest School “open” session.  The boys' excitement was palpable and cries of delight rang out through the woods when the parents arrived on site.

The weather was perfect with a little bit of warm spring sunshine, and the boys couldn’t wait to show our guests around.  Parents and boys were soon busy exploring, using the rope swings (yes, there was a mum who was swinging back and forth) and cutting wood cookies.  There were a couple of boys who did an amazing job of talking their parents through how to use the fire flints, but the boys seemed to be better at getting a flame than their parents!

Snack time saw everyone gather for sausage rolls and chocolate brownies with tea and coffee for the parents.  An amazing story was spun during our snack using the story discs.  One of the mums provided us with a great first line and the boys then took up the story.  The time flew and before long we had to pack up and leave.  Everyone headed home tired but happy having had a lovely afternoon.

Watch out Year 1 parents, it is your turn next.
