Moulsford is a unique place due to the amazing breadth of opportunities here from DT and Art to sport, the classroom to the music department - Moulsford never fails to find the best in somebody. Also, Moulsford’s welcoming and supportive nature has been evident since I first joined in 2015.
I have always enjoyed my sports but I was taken aback when I saw Moulsford’s sporting facilities. Beautiful pitches for rugby, cricket, and football, an incredible sports hall for climbing, gymnastics, basketball, and so much more. Not only that, but Moulsford’s sports staff are very supportive and kind, whilst also pushing everyone to their full potential. No matter what team you find yourself in, the teamwork and resilience shown is always incredible, and everyone is there to support you every step of your Moulsford sporting journey.
In the classroom, boys are blessed with incredible teachers who all have deep passions in their subjects as well as in trying to make every pupil the best they can be. This is reflected in the enjoyment pupils show in lessons buying into everything from English and Maths, to ICT and Humanities. My personal favourite lessons over the years have been TPR (RS), Geography and History as I enjoy learning about how our world works and comparing it to the past. However, I still really enjoy all the other subjects as well and they have all contributed to make me a (fairly) well rounded boy today!
The Arts departments are a crucial part of a complete Moulsford education as these can spark the creativity inside pupils and really take them into their own. On the performance side of this, there are Nativities in Pre-Prep, plays in Years Three, Five and Eight and a Christmas Concert in Year Four, not to mention the many performances in the Junior, Pop and Senior choirs. In my Year Seven play, I played Detective Fix in Around The World in Eighty Days, which was a very enjoyable and memorable performance. Moulsford also has a Design and Technology department where boys learn about engineering and other practical skills and an Art department where boys learn all about different techniques to make art. My favourite painting I made was a ‘Faceless Portrait’ of James Anderson inspired by Coco Davez.
In my opinion, Moulsford has one of the best Co - Curricular programmes ever. After school, boys can stay to do clubs in school. To give you an idea, last year I was cooking on Monday, Debating on Tuesday and playing Flag American Football on Thursday.
Of the 10 years of my life that I have spent here, I have loved every second and wouldn’t have rather spent it anywhere else.
